The VMCU Rep Carnival concluded yesterday (Sunday), with three Western Region teams winning premierships – the Julie Savage U14 Shield; Keith Mitchell U12 Shield and Josh Browne U12 Plate. The U18 Phil Arnold Shield and U16 Jim Beitzel Shield teams were Runners Up – a huge effort in getting to the GF.

In even better news, Yarraville CC had four players in these winning teams:
Merrick Sheather (U15B Sat) Julie Savage U14 Shield
Sam Thaus (U15A Sat) Keith Mitchell U12 Shield
Rohan Sood (U13A Sat) Keith Mitchell U12 Shield
Harry Denning (U13A Fri & Sat) Keith Mitchell U12 Shield

Both the U14 Julie Savage team and U12 Keith Mitchell team went through the 8 games of the carnival UNDEFEATED! The U12 Keith Mitchell win was the first time Western Region have won this division.

All of our players performed incredibly well – special mentions to Sam Thaus who co-captained the U12 team and Rohan Sood who was the leading wicket taker in the competition (13 wickets @ 9.15 average).

Yarraville CC is very proud of all players who represented the Western Region this past fortnight, and with most Western team age groups making finals the future seems very bright.
